Electronic House magazine Announces the Winners of the Home of the Year Gold, Silver and Bronze were awarded in 13 electronic home categories.

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – EH Publishing is pleased to announce that Electronic House magazine unveiled the winners of its second annual Home of the Year awards at the Electronic House Expo last week in Orlando, Florida.

The editors of Electronic House magazine received more than 300 entries from 107 custom home dealers and installers to this year’s EH Home of the Year competition. Winners in three levels-gold, silver and bronze-were awarded in 13 categories and exemplified the far-reaching potential for incorporating audio, video, whole-home automation, lighting control and more into today’s electronic house. “Last year’s Home of the Year issue was so well received by the EH audience that we expanded the categories and will feature seven additional winning homes this year,” said Cindy Davis, Editor-in-chief of Electronic House.

Electronic House magazine will devote its entire May issue to the award-winning installations with featured photography, articles and accompanying equipment lists. Look for the EH Home of the Year issue at Barnes & Noble, Borders bookstores and on newsstands throughout the country on May 1. In addition all winners as well as over 100 “runners up” will be posted on www.electronichouse.com for a full year with expected visits to reach over one million.

The grand prize category was awarded for overall Best Electronic House of the Year. Other categories included the best: Master Suite, Master Bathroom, Outdoor Space, Family/Media Room, Kitchen, “Fun” Room, Home Theater ($10,000-$25,000; $25K-$50K; $51K-$100K; $100K-$250K; $251K and above) and “Wow” Factor. One best “Green” home winner was also honored.

The entries were judged on the lifestyle benefits that result for the homeowners and how easy each system is to use. “Music, movies and photos shared in every room, connected lighting, climate control and security systems as well as great home theaters for any size home are just some of the benefits homeowners enjoy by having an electronic home,” concludes Davis.
